In Primary 1 we have been looking at solids and liquids. We know that some solids can be changed into liquids by adding heat. We added hot water to jelly and watched as the cubes began to melt and colour the water and then dissolve. We then placed our bowls in the fridge and were amazed to find that the jelly had turned back into a solid. This activity also linked in with our special sound this week ‘j’.
We made strawberry, lime, orange and blackcurrant jelly. The children were very adventurous and tried the different flavours and agreed that they were delicious served with ice-cream.
The children can confidently recall the steps involved in making jelly and with adult assistance say they are going to make some for their family. Well done everyone. ðŸ‘
