Foley Primary School achieves Green Flag award!

15th Jun 2022

The Eco-Council have been working so hard and have been taking a very active approach by looking after our local environment.

They have been involved in many projects but here are a few: litter picks, making bird feeders, participated in the Big Bird Watch, the big Energy Saver project, carried out a school audit,  whilst also making small changes in their own classrooms such as turning off lights in empty classes and making sure that the taps are turned off tightly.

Last Wednesday 8th June, 4 members of the Eco-Council attended a special award ceremony in the Civic centre in Craigavon. They listened to some incredible speakers who are working tirelessly to try and protect our environment.

Foley Primary School was given the Green Flag status for all the effort that they have made to try and make adjustments within our school and local community which have made a significant difference. This Green Flag is allocated to Foley School for 2 years and then will hopefully be renewed in 2024.

A massive congratulations to the whole school community but especially to the Eco-Council members who have put these changes in place which are helping to protect our environment and ultimately look after our lovely, planet.
