Home Learning

20th Apr 2020

Thank you to everyone who replied to our survey about home learning, it was lovely to hear your thoughts and get a different perspective on things.

Firstly I would like to say to parents, please do not feel under pressure to complete all of the tasks which are set, there is no – ‘one size fits all’ in regards to learning from home.  Each home has different circumstances and children of different ages.  There is no set amount of time that you should be spending at schoolwork. Do what works for you in your home. With everything going on in the world at this minute, our priority is the health and well-being of everyone. We do not wish to add to the stress and anxiety that currently exists . Our message is simple: keep reading, writing, spelling, counting and enjoying learning while maintaining physical and mental wellbeing.

A lot of people found that they preferred the home learning packs for completing work.  New work packs are now available for each child.  Completing a page or two from each booklet each day will supplement the other work set on Studyladder.  Additionally if you require more work you can supplement it with work from the Home Link section on our school website. Work booklets can be collected at the school on Thursday morning (23rd April) Social distancing should be maintained at all times when collecting work packs:

Collection times: P5/6/7 can be collected between 9:30am - 10:15am

                         P1/2/3/4 can be collected between 10:15am - 11.00am

For the new term we will be adding a new whole school challenge for the children. Over the weeks these will take various forms.  A message from Mr McCrory will follow shortly.

Please remember, if you would like to take a picture of the work that your children complete, or a small video of the ways in which they are keeping busy, feel free to send them to the school WhatsApp number and I will share them with our community on our ‘School Website and Facebook page’.

Kind regards

Mr McCrory
